POSITION SUMMARY

 

The PC Technician provides Tri Counties Bank with technical support for hardware and software.  Provides an interface to various vendors for service and support.  Works with basic AS/400 devices.  Installs and maintains all PC equipment and software.  Works with hardware or software vendors to determine compatibility with Bank’s existing systems.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Answers support calls relating to PC hardware and software.
  • Installs new or upgraded PC hardware.
  • Installs new or upgraded PC software.
  • Maintains all documentation related to job function.  Completes new installation documentation before a job can be signed off.
  • Helps maintain hardware and software inventory by providing the necessary information to inventory database.
  • Adhere to sound practices and maintain Information Security standards for securing Bank hardware and software systems
  • Adhere to Bank established patch management procedures to securely maintain systems
  • Coordinates installations with systems support coordinator.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Adheres to Bank policy and procedures and complies with confidentiality regulations including Gramm-Leach Bliley Act principles by successfully completing related trainings and maintaining these learned practices on the job.
  • Keeps current with industry changes to Microcomputer hardware and software that will impact Tri Counties Bank.
  • Support the Bank’s efforts and follow best practices to prevent network and system security vulnerabilities, such as spyware and computer viruses
  • Performs additional duties as deemed necessary by manager.

Prerequisites:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Time management skills to keep on schedule.
  • Knowledge of PC operating systems and hardware configuration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
